Real ale, cask beer, bitter, traditional ale, cask-conditioned, bottle-conditioned – even if you don’t drink ales yourself, you’re sure to know someone who enjoys a decent pint!
And that’s what Frog Island Brewery Ltd is all about – decent honest pints brewed using traditional methods and quality English raw materials, where possible. There is nothing artificial about our real ales!
The initial malty taste is complimented by the citrus flavours and bitterness of the hops. The thirst-quenching character of the beer is enhanced by a lasting malty, bitter aftertaste.
Brewed in the typical style of a ‘Best Bitter’ to produce a well-rounded malty body with a slight fruitiness. The bitterness of the hops develops into a bitter, astringent aftertaste.
Croak and Stagger
After an initial bitter, roasted taste, the full-bodied and robust malt flavours become more pronounced. These are complimented by the sweet, spicy character of Cascade hops and the bitterness of Target hops.
An initial sweetness is followed by floral hop flavours. The combination of malts provides a perfect balance and lingers into a dry, bitter aftertaste. Perfect for lovers of lighter golden beers (maybe even lager drinkers).
Based in the heart of Northampton, England, we have been recreating the traditional local style of refreshingly bitter beers since 1994.
Graeme Swanson took over the Frog Island Brewery back in May 2017, and has since given the brewery a new look.
